Information for Schemes

NCS Scheme

The National Childcare Scheme provides 2 types of childcare subsidy for children over 24 weeks of age - a universal subsidy for children under 3 which is not means tested and an income assessed subsidy for children up to 15 which is means-tested.

Subsidies are paid directly to your childcare provider, however you must apply for the subsidy yourself. Your provider then subtracts your subsidy from your weekly fees.

ECCE Scheme

The Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) Scheme provides early childhood care and education for children of pre-school age. The scheme is offered in early years settings for 3 hours a day, 5 days a week, 38 weeks of the year.

All children are entitled to 2 full academic years on the ECCE scheme.

Children are eligible to start the ECCE scheme in the September of the year that they turn 3 years old. For example, a child turning 3 years old in 2020 can be registered on the ECCE scheme in September 2020.

The subsidy is paid directly to the Service with the Service applying for the subsidy on the parent’s behalf. Please note that fees will be payable for hours attending the Service outside of ECCE hours.

Children availing of the ECCE scheme may also be entitled to wrap around funding on the NCS Scheme for hours attended in the Service outside of ECCE hours.

About Us

Oakview offers a holistic approach to the care and early education of each child in partnership and co-operation with Parents/ Guardians in quality and inclusive Early Years’ Services.

We recognize Parents/ Guardians as the primary educators of their Children. Children need a sense of security and belonging when they are away from their Families; this is the philosophy we apply to all the Children in our care.

Our Philosophy

We aim to provide a holistic approach to each child’s individuality, encouraging confidence and self-esteem by providing a flexible programme of learning through play, an awareness of personal safety and hygiene, development of social skills and encouraging experiential participation in all activities, events and outings. We promote good behaviour, valuing co-operation and a caring attitude; we hope to ensure that Children will develop as responsible members of society.
Our Centres

In 2008, Oakview launched Oakview Village Childcare, providing Tralee and surrounding areas with the highest standard of care and education, delivered by a team of qualified and experienced Staff.

We also now operate Early Years facilities at Technological University Dublin (Tallaght Campus) South Dublin County Council Tallaght and Clondalkin, Cork City Hall, Grange Meath and Dublin City Centre.

The Oakview creche provide the best care for my son. I was quite concerned dropping him off at 6 months old but I am glad I did. His social interaction, eating skills and many more developed. He is always happy at the end of the day and barely wants to leave the building when it is home time.
My son has attending Oakview in Tallaght for the past 2 years. I am extremly happy with the service and the Staff. The Staff always go above and beyond what is excepted. There is such a positive atmosphere at the creche and the Children are all very happy. My son loves creche, his teachers and friends.
Oakview Tallaght is an amazing créche. The staff are lovely and very caring. They do plenty of activities throughout the year and my son learned so much during his time there. They're also very attentive to his personal needs and always ensuring the safety of the Children.
